The Kentucky Society of CPAs mourns the passing of Jon Hickman, CPA, CVA, who passed away August 10, 2026, at the age of 52.
Jon was a dedicated member of KyCPA for more than two decades, joining the Society in 2002 and serving on the KyCPA Board of Directors since July 1, 2024. He also shared his time and expertise as a member of the Nominations and Awards Committee. His commitment to the CPA profession and willingness to serve made a lasting impact on KyCPA and Kentucky’s accounting community.
For 31 years, Jon built his career with Munninghoff, Lange & Co., where he began as an intern while studying accounting at the University of Kentucky. After graduating in 1995, he joined the firm full time and ultimately became a shareholder and president. His leadership extended beyond his firm and the accounting profession through service with organizations including the Northern Kentucky University Go Norse Fund Board and the Bishop Brossart High School Athletic Complex Building Committee.
Those who knew Jon remember not only his professional accomplishments, but also his warmth, leadership and sense of humor. His firm described him as a steady presence whose influence could be seen in the relationships he built, the people he mentored and the laughter he brought to those around him.
Jon was a loving husband and father who cherished time with his family. He also enjoyed golf, concerts, cheering on the Bengals, Reds and Norse, singing karaoke and supporting his children in their many activities.
KyCPA extends its deepest condolences to Jon’s wife, Natalie, his children, Hayley, Joey, Bradley, Matthew and Drake, his extended family, friends, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His leadership, friendship and dedication to the profession will be deeply missed.
