Mission

The Educational Foundation of the Kentucky Society of CPAs is dedicated to enhancing the numbers of college degrees in Kentucky, expanding the pipeline of financial professionals in the business marketplace, improving the financial literacy of Kentucky’s youth and revealing to students the boundless career opportunities open to those who pursue an accounting degree.

History

The Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA) was founded in 1924. In 1961, KyCPA established an Educational Foundation to strengthen and advance the profession through enriched educational programs and scholarships.

Structure

The Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes as a 501(c)3. It is governed by nine CPA trustees. In 2019, the board of trustees adopted new Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws to better serve the Foundation and KyCPA. The trustees are responsible for all fiduciary decisions of the Foundation and have been charged with oversight of an investment policy to govern donations given by individuals, firms and companies.

All donations are tax-deductible. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
